Salaries
In general, salaries for product managers are relatively high in the US market. Since this category of job encourages or requires a masters degree, starting pay will be somewhat higher than other marketing categories. The following chart lists representative salaries for talented marketing professionals in large corporations at present.
Market Intelligence: Product manager salaries run between $40,000 and $87,000 at AT&T. Procter & Gamble reports Brand Assistant salaries of $45,000 (plus $25,000 for an MBA); General Motors pays $70,000 in the same title while Pepsico pays its marketing managers between $60,000 and $90,000. Jobs at Amazon, AOL and Intel pay relatively low (in the 70's) but have involved lucrative stock options. MBA level salaries for product management types are currently as follows for product managers:
